Every year the American Chemical Society hosts the Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference. This year is conference number 23 and the event is being run in tandem with the 9th International Conference on Green and Sustainable Chemistry.
The ACS Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference features great speakers and technical programs related to green chemistry. Examples of what will be discussed this year include waste biomass as a renewable feedstock, artificial intelligence, machine learning, polymers and plastics, sustainable plastics degradation, innovation in renewable and biobased chemicals, circular economy, transportation fuels and chemicals, biocatalysis, and issues for companies such as intellectual property and pitching to investors among many others. There is a mix of topics that range from the very technical to the high level and strategic as it relates to green chemistry. In addition, there is a product showcase where companies will demonstrate their green chemistry technologies. Some of the companies will have prototypes of their products or technologies available to view and talk about or they will share posters that summarize their innovations.
Other features of the conference include networking opportunities and social events and a workshop about communicating science. In addition, the conference location of Reston, Virginia offers great restaurants and other attractions within close proximity to the conference venue.
